Accurate and Powerful Left-Tilting Table Saw
Powered by a 1.5-horsepower, single-phase, 115/230-volt motor, the Powermatic 64A features a left-tilting arbor that lets the user tilt the blade away from the fence, eliminating the need for a sacrificial fence and reducing the risk of the work piece binding under the blade.

It also comes complete with a beveled, front edge to facilitate smooth transitions of the miter gauge as it moves over the edge of the table.

No matter the size or thickness of the work piece, the Powermatic 64A's exclusive 3VX belt offers increased efficiency--especially when compared to standard belts--and less vibration for smooth operation. And when dealing with wider stock, users will appreciate the T-slot miter gauge with positive stops.

Versatile, Expandable Design
For versatility, two cast-iron wings, a wood extension table with melamine surface, and an independent leaf safety guard come standard, while a lockable push-button switch with removable safety key protects against accidental starts.

And to help get you started right away, the quick-connect power cord reduces assembly time.

Accu-Fence with 50-Inch Rip Capacity
The Powermatic 64A comes equipped with an Accu-Fence with a rip capacity of 50 inches to the right of the blade for reliable accuracy and to help make each job faster and more precise. This fence length is particularly ideal for a home shop where space may be an issue.

For greater speed and accuracy, an interior spring applies constant pressure when not locked down, which takes the slop out of fence movement. Replaceable sides with easy-access screws allow for quick adjustment close to the tabletop, so nothing will slip underneath.

It's hardworking, reliable and reasonable—just three of the reasons you'll appreciate this saw. It's run by a gutsy 1-1/2 hp induction motor that drives the blade through even the toughest hardwoods without a shudder. A nice step up from the standard Delta fence, the Delta Unifence Saw System fence offers 30 inches of to-the-hairsbreadth cut capacity to the right of the blade, plenty for even big projects and sheet goods. A detail we love about the Unifence is that you can slide the front portion closer to you for more guidance and control when feeding sheet goods. Unifence has earned its reputation for absolute accuracy, and one pass on this saw will confirm that for you. There's also a low-profile setting in case you need more clearance between the guard and the fence. Because the 30-by-27 table and wing are cast iron, you get the durability and the stability you can't get with pressed steel. The carriage, too, is cast iron, and for you, that means no vibration and ultimate precision. The deluxe miter gauge is sturdy and easy to angle; it rides without play in the slot. Now, we know lots of you take off that blade guard the minute you get a saw, but it's on there for a reason—your safety. And this one's got some nice features, locking in the up position without wedging in some scrap wood, and when you replace the insert, it releases automatically. Specifications

Known as one of the few quality saws still made in America, what really sets the Powermatic 66 apart from the competition is about 200 pounds of solid vibration-reducing cast iron. The weight of this machine makes it the smoothest-running tool in its class. A 40-pound, single-piece, cast-iron trunnion reduces vibration from the 3-horsepower motor. Rugged Design for Smooth Operation
Designed with input from professional woodworkers, the PM200 provides incredible quality, efficient functionality, and long-term durability. Its refined, heavy-duty trunnion mechanism features super-rigid, box-style cast-iron construction, high-end bearings, and a conical-shaped, worm gear drive with an increased contact area to enhance the smooth, solid feel of the tilt and height adjustment.

A pair of oversized eight-inch diameter cast iron hand wheels, each with a large spinner handle, makes blade height and bevel adjustments virtually effortless. And to prevent long-term use from loosening the hand wheels on their shafts, they are locked in place with machined grooves and keys, rather than setscrews.

Precision Machined Arbor and Poly-V Belt Drives
The full-length 5/8-inch diameter arbor is precision machined from stress-proof steel to exceptionally high tolerances for accuracy. It accepts stacked dado sets up to 13/16-inch wide, and because there is no gap between the threads and arbor shank, thin chippers won't hang out of line.

Also, the push-button arbor lock facilitates rapid blade changes, while a high quality poly-v drive belt system transmits more power without slippage or excessive noise.

Generously Sized Tables and Extensions
All the high-luster, cast-iron surfaces are finely ground to ensure a smooth, mar-free work surface that provides more support for the big jobs. They also have both a front- and rear-edge bevel for hassle-free work piece positioning.

Measuring approximately 30.5 x 22.0 inches (W x L), the primary cast-iron tabletop expands to 42 inches long when the standard cast-iron extension wings are bolted up, giving you plenty of space for even large work pieces.

Safe, Sturdy Design
The PM2000 also comes equipped with a newly designed magnetic On/Off switch for safety. To prevent accidental startups there's a removable magnetic "key" that disables the switch when it's not in place. For additional protection against damage, a quick release riving knife greatly reduces binding/kickback risk.

High-Tech Guard System
The PM2000's blade guard and riving knife system can be adjusted tool-free for the job at hand. Because the riving knife is mounted directly to the blade mechanism, the gap between it and the blade never changes during height or angle adjustments. This maintains the safety a riving knife affords in virtually all cutting situations.

Get Accuracy and Precision
An industrial-duty 30-inch Accu-Fence System ensures accurate cuts, while adjustable angle indicators on the blade bevel scale for repeatable bevel cuts. Accurate and Powerful Left-Tilting Table Saw
Powered by a 1.5-horsepower, single-phase, 115/230-volt motor, the Powermatic 64 features a left-tilting arbor that lets the user tilt the blade away from the fence. This eliminates the need for a sacrificial fence and reduces the risk of your work piece binding under the blade.

It also comes with a beveled front edge to facilitate smooth transitions of the miter gauge as it moves over the front edge of the table.

No matter the size or thickness of the work piece, the Powermatic 64's exclusive 3VX belt offers increased efficiency--especially when compared to standard belts--and less vibration for smooth operation. Accu-Fence with 30-Inch Rip Capacity
The Powermatic 64 comes equipped with an Accu-Fence with a rip capacity of 30 inches to the right of the blade for reliable accuracy and to help make each job faster and more precise. This fence length is particularly ideal for a home shop where space is an issue.

For greater speed and accuracy, an interior spring applies constant pressure when not locked down, which takes the slop out of fence movement. Also, replaceable sides with easy-access screws allow quick adjustment close enough to the tabletop so that nothing will slip underneath.

Rugged Design for Smooth Operation
Designed with input from professional woodworkers, the PM2000 provides incredible quality, efficient functionality, and long-term durability.

Its refined heavy-duty trunnion mechanism features rigid, box-style cast-iron construction, high-end bearings, and a conical-shaped worm gear drive with an increased contact area to enhance the smooth, solid feel of the tilt and height adjustment.

A pair of oversized, eight-inch-diameter cast-iron hand wheels, each with a large spinner handle, makes blade height and bevel adjustments virtually effortless. And to prevent long-term use from loosening the hand wheels on their shafts, they are locked in place with machined grooves and keys rather than setscrews.

Precision Machined Arbor and Poly-V Drive Belt System
The full-length 5/8-inch diameter arbor is precision machined from stress-proof steel to exceptionally high tolerances for accuracy. It accepts stacked dado sets up to 13/16-inch wide, and because there is no gap between the threads and arbor shank, thin chippers won't hang out of line.

Also, the push-button arbor lock makes for rapid blade changes, while a high quality poly-V drive belt system transmits more power without slippage or excessive noise.

Generously Sized Tables and Extensions
All the high-luster, cast-iron surfaces are finely ground to ensure a smooth, mar-free work surface that provides more support for big jobs and have both a front- and rear-edge bevel for hassle-free work piece positioning.

Safe, Sturdy Design
The PM2000 Anniversary Edition also comes equipped with a newly designed magnetic On/Off switch for safety. To prevent accidental start-ups, there's a removable magnetic "key" that disables the switch when it's not in place. For additional protection against damage, a quick-release riving knife greatly reduces binding/kickback risk.

High-Tech Guard System
The PM2000's blade guard and riving knife system can be adjusted tool-free for the job at hand. At the same time, because the riving knife is mounted directly to the blade mechanism, the gap between it and the blade never changes during height or angle adjustments.

This maintains the safety a riving knife affords in virtually all cutting situations.

Get Accuracy and Precision
An industrial-duty 50-inch Accu-Fence System ensures accurate cuts. Adjustable angle indicators on the blade bevel scale for repeatable bevel cuts. The only difference between this Makita jobsite saw and a fancy cabinet saw is that you can easily pick this one up and put it in your truck. In terms of power, capacity, accuracy and capability, it’s a draw.

A 15-amp motor revs up to provide 4,800 rpm, plenty for cutting anything you can feed it, and its impressive cutting capacity lets you rip 4-by stock in one pass without moaning or slowing – that’s power. The table’s perfectly flat, and with its extension, it can actually hand a full sheet of ply, cutting dadoes of almost an inch.

The thing that makes this saw stand out from its competitors is the T-slots for the miter gauge, resulting in a nice tight fit with zero play and total support – no tipping -- when you’re beyond the table surface. Even better, commercial jigs and accessories with the T-shank just slip right in.

The blade height mechanism is among the smoothest we’ve seen, and precision is unparalleled. The fence is sturdy and smooth as well, with predrilled holes for an auxiliary fence. It moves like a dream and locks down tight with an easy-to-grip cam handle.

Storage is well thought-out and executed on the 2704, with a place for everything from the fence to the push stick. We like that there’s even a place for the blade below the table to protect it while it’s traveling.

Power, precision, productivity and portability are what this thoroughbred workhorse is all about.

Whether you’re crosscutting 1/4-inch ply or ripping 2x oak, this direct-drive saw delivers consistently and sans vibration. Drawing 15 amps, the saw’s 10-inch blade hits 4,000 rpm easily. On top, the smooth-as-glass oversized aluminum table and awesome extension give you 24-1/2 inches of rip capacity to the right and 10 inches to the left. A coat of paste wax and a buffing is all you have to do to reach perfection.

The blade height hand wheel also conveniently serves as the bevel adjustment, at least for large changes, but the folks at Hitachi incorporated a fine-tune feature, accessible just by pushing in the wheel. Just remember to lock down the bevel handle. Action is smooth on the height, bevel and fine adjustments.

Be aware, though, that when you tilt the blade to 45 degrees and you’re using the miter gauge, the gauge’s handle will bump into the blade guard. It doesn’t cause a problem, but users should just be forewarned.

The saw comes with a surprisingly good 10-inch 36-tooth carbide tipped blade to get you working right out of the box. And as with most saws in its class, the arbor lock feature allows the blade to be changed out using a single wrench. The stand is rugged, sturdy and not even a bear to assemble, and it folds down for good storage. What sets this stand apart from the others is the adjustable foot on the front right, letting you stabilize the saw on rough ground at the job site or perhaps an uneven concrete floor in the shop. To keep mess to a minimum, hook up your shop vacuum to the port on the rear of the saw base.

There are lots of saws with similar features, and with any well-known brand name, you really can’t make a mistake. But this Hitachi really is a great contractor saw for the price with features that some of the spendier saws don’t have.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste

Advanced Trunnion Mechanism
Though Powermatic's trunnion mechanism has long been regarded as the best in the industry, their designers further refined it. The rigid, box-style cast-iron construction, high-end bearings, and conical-shaped worm gear drive with increased contact area combine with the smooth, solid feel of the tilt and height adjustments. Also the adjustable backlash means users can easily adjust the mechanism back to factory-fresh clearances and feel.

Easy Adjustments and Mobility
Two oversize, eight-inch-diameter cast-iron handwheels, each with a large spinner handle, make blade height and bevel adjustments almost effortless, while a quick-release riving knife greatly reduces binding/kickback risk. Also, a built-in, retractable-caster system (patent pending) provides mobility, and a push-button arbor lock (patent pending) ensures rapid blade changes.

Durable Construction and Vibration-Free Performance
The PM2000 is built to last. Fabricated from heavy-gauge steel, its cabinet is fitted to a huge cast-iron base (the heaviest in its class) that provides exceptional stability and virtually eliminates vibration. Also, the full-length 5/8-inch-diameter arbor is precision machined from stress-proof steel to exceptionally high tolerances for accuracy.

The specially designed arbor threads eliminate the dip between them and the shaft that can allow thin dado chippers to hang out of alignment with the rest of the stack. To keep operation quieter and smoother, a poly-V drive-belt system transfers power from the motor to the arbor with virtually no vibration and less heat build-up.

Tackles the Big Jobs
Large workpieces aren't a problem with the 22- x 30-1/2-inch (W x D) primary cast-iron table surface, which expands to 42 inches long. All cast-iron surfaces are finely ground to ensure a smooth, mar-free work surface that provides more support for the big jobs. And a front- and rear-edge bevel prevents catching of the miter gauge on the table edge.

Also, the push-button arbor lock is accessible from above the tabletop, eliminating the need for dual arbor wrenches, while a melamine-surface extension table gives you even more room to work.

Power and Precision
The PM2000 is powered by a three-horsepower, one-phase motor controlled by a newly designed magnetic on/off switch that allows disabling of the machine when not in use, and protects against accidental start-ups caused by power fluctuations.

This machine also comes equipped with an industrial-duty Accu-Fence system for accurate cuts, and a heavy-duty, deluxe, micro-adjust miter gauge with aluminum-extruded 13-inch extension fence for dependable workpiece support and fine angle adjustments.

Dust Collection
For a healthier, cleaner work environment, a dust shroud encloses much of the blade below the table, and a quick release hose connects the shroud to a standard four-inch-diameter port on the rear of the cabinet.

The PM2000 is backed by a five-year warranty.

Bosch's 10-inch Worksite table saw might just be the best of the current bunch. Benchtop table saws--which weigh 60 to 100 pounds and are light enough for one person to carry from the truck to the job site--have increased in popularity in recent years. They set up easily on a workbench or sawhorses and generally feature stable components that make them great for pros and serious hobbyists alike. Although at 60 pounds the Bosch is lighter than any other saw in its class, this saw is no lightweight. It sports a die-cast undercarriage and powerful 4.4-horsepower, 15 amp motor--burly components that make it a serious, albeit slight, contender. Conveniently, the Bosch comes ready to use right out of the box; we were making cuts about 10 minutes after the UPS delivery. Plus, it's the only benchtop table saw with an arbor lock, so mounting the blade is a one-wrench affair (less chance for busted knuckles). The wrench--like all those that come with Bosch tools--is forged, rather than stamped, and so there are no sharp edges that dig into your hand during blade changes. It's a small detail, but one that matters and one that's typical of the attention to detail paid by Bosch engineers.

A flip of the paddle-style on/off switch initiates the soft-start electronics, which ramp the blade up to speed quickly without any disturbing jolt. The electronic feedback, popular on many saws today, keeps the blade turning at a constant speed, no matter what the load. The fence is the heart of any table saw and we found Bosch's to be a beauty. It's well machined and locks securely and accurately to the table. The cam-lock handle is padded, seats flush, and feels good to use. Like the comparable DeWalt saw, the Bosch features an extendable fence that makes it easy to rip four-by-eight panel material. It feels solid and slides smoothly, and the scales are easy to read. (There's even a built-in magnifying glass to cut down on the squint factor.) As with all the new Bosch tools, wrenches and removable items store nicely onboard the saw. The fence snaps into a holder on the side of the saw and stays put, and the miter gauge slides into a slot on the front of the tool--yet another small detail that we appreciate. The bottom line? The Bosch is a powerful saw that handles big stock without bogging down. --Mark McDonald

Hitachi’s third-generation 10-inch jobsite table saw replaces their old C10RA2 model, and the changes made a great saw better.

After about a half-hour of assembly, you’ll notice first that there’s now more room to rip: The telescoping table extension gives you 24-1/2 inches of ripping capacity to the right and 10 inches to the left. And we can’t figure out how they made it lighter, but they did, and without sacrificing power. It draws 15 amps and produces a whopping 5,000 rpm, enough to slice through anything you feed it. It runs beautifully with virtually no vibration; it’s direct drive, of course.

Since you’re shopping for a jobsite saw, you know you’re not going to get a Biesemeyer-quality fence, but we have to say we really like the one on this machine. It’s sturdy, self-aligning, moves super smoothly along its rails and locks down easily and very securely with a beefy handle. Hitachi also gets points from us for predrilling holes for any auxiliary fence you might want to use. The blade height wheel is on the front, and the bevel handwheel is on the right-hand side. The scale and pointer, though, are up front, along with the bevel lock. Both wheels operate smoothly and without hiccups. Be aware, though, that when you tilt the blade to 45 degrees and you’re using the miter gauge, the gauge’s handle will bump into the blade guard. It doesn’t cause a problem, but users should just be forewarned.

We like the self-aligning metal rip fence for its stability, the quick-lock feature and how cleanly it slides. Should you need to realign, the process is fast and simple. The miter gauge is rock-solid and runs without play in the slots, and both pieces store neatly on the saw base along with the wrench, push-stick, power cord, dado insert and blade for transport and keeps them in easy reach for use. The stand is sturdy and we like the leveling foot on one leg to compensate for rugged ground at the jobsite or an uneven shop floor. To keep mess to a minimum, hook up your shop vacuum to the 2-1/2-inch port on the rear of the saw base. We think this is a great saw at a great price, and both the professional and the exacting do-it-yourselfer will be really pleased with it.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste

While this JET saw beats its closest competitor on price, it also offers some advantages in terms of design and construction. Placing the quick-connect electrical plug right at the saw so the user doesn't have to search out the wall socket for every blade change is just one small example of JET's attention to detail. The stand for this saw is made of a heavy-gauge metal, and features a hinged motor cover and a 4- inch dust port for easy connection to a dust-collection system. A change in the hole pattern on the fence rails means lefties can shift the set up to their preference. The left-tilting arbor is another mark in this saw's favor. Tilting the blade away from the fence negates the need for a sacrificial fence and reduces the risk of the piece binding under the blade. This saw's most impressive feature is the smooth action of the blade height-adjustment mechanism. Not only will users save their wrists and knuckles, but they'll also save time by being able to crank the blade to the exact height necessary with vastly fewer test runs for every rabbet, dado, tongue, and groove. Finally, we really appreciate JET's use of totally enclosed fan-cooled motors on this and every other saw the company makes. 15 AMP Power with New "Tool-Less" Blade Guard System
The 2705X1 is powered by a 15 AMP motor that delivers 4,800 RPM with an electric brake for maximum productivity. The large cutting capacity (3-5/8 inches at 90° and 2-1/2 inches at 45°) can rip 4X material in one pass, and can use up to a 13/16-inch dado blade. The 2705X1 also features a tool-less modular blade guard system with adjustable dual side guards to allow for ease of measurement from the blade to the rip fence for cutting setups. The two on-board independent stowable anti-kickback pawls and riving knife/spreader allows for through cuts. In addition, the riving knife/spreader adjusts to three different positions for through, non-through and dado cuts - and it adjusts without removing the throat plate.

The precision-machined table top remains flat and true for accurate cuts, right out of the box. The right extension table allows for greater cutting capacity with the capability to rip 4'x8' sheets of plywood.
